Program Review

2019

Tsinghua SPS successfully held its first Amgen Scholars Program in 2019, creating beautiful memories together with Amgen Scholars.

2020-2021

Due to the COVID-19, 2020-2021 Tsinghua Amgen Scholars Program switched online. We invited old friends and professors from Tsinghua SPS to bring wonderful lectures to Amgen Scholars.

In 2021, the epidemic still affects the holding of offline projects. In order not to stop the learning, the Tsinghua Amgen Scholars Program held three online lectures for new and old students in the summer of 2021, which achieved great effect and response.

2022

In 2022, from June to August, six Amgen Scholars from top universities completed an eight-week summer research training on the campus of Tsinghua University. In this scientific research training, Amgen scholars went into the laboratory under the guidance of their tutors and participated in the research of cutting-edge topics in biomedicine.

2023

From June 27 to August 19, 2023, 24 Amgen Scholars from top universities in the world completed their eight-week summer research training on the Tsinghua campus. They not only conducted research in the laboratory, but also participated in related academic exchanges. In addition, at the invitation of the Amgen Foundation, Mr. Chen Ligong, vice dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the project team teachers led 24 students to participate in the Amgen Scholars Program Asia Seminar at the National University of Singapore.

In addition to conducting scientific research, Amgen Scholars were also exposed to Chinese culture. They went to the Mutianyu Great Wall, and visited the Temple of Heaven and Jingshan Park together in their spare time, touching the history of Beijing and experiencing the local culture.
